Oliver Community Festival
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
May 30, 2015
on 102 Avenue between 121 Street and 123 Streets More Info

The festival is a co-operative venture by the Oliver Community League, 124th Street Business Association, Christ Church Anglican, and Robertson-Wesley United Church.  The festival will take place on 102 Avenue between 121 Street and 123 Streets.

The opening ceremony is at 10 am, and you can enjoy a free pancake breakfast from 10-11.  The entertainment, both inside the two churches and outdoors, includes choirs, bands, soloists, handbells, dance, drumming, Celtic harp, a fiddling group, a circus act, live painting to music and historic tours.  There will be lots of fun activities for children and youth including bouncy castles, crafts, and games.  A rummage sale and book sale will interest treasure hunters.  New this year is a street hockey game! (No one will have to say “car” since the street will already be blocked off!) Later in the day, there will be lots of food, including home baking and a toonie BBQ (12-2). Be sure to check out the local vendors and local artists along with their creations, designed and produced for and in our community.

You can attend, volunteer, or help by donating items.  Rummage sale items can be delivered to Robertson-Wesley United Church (10209-123 Street) and donations of books can be dropped off at Christ Church Anglican (12116-102 Avenue).  Volunteers are required for set-up, clean-up, security, delivery of flyers in the neighbourhood, assistance with entertainment, sales, baking and many other needs.  If you would like to volunteer, you can contact Robertson-Wesley (780-482-1587 or mail@rwuc.org) or Christ Church (780-488-1118 or admin@christchurchedm.ca).

Come and meet the people in the Oliver community and these organizations who do so much in this community! All proceeds from donations, sales, and the BBQ will go to support outreach programs in the Oliver area.

Look us up at www.olivercommunityfestival.weebly.com, find us on Facebook (Oliver Community Festival) or email: olivercommunityfestival@gmail.com for more information!
