A fun-filled family event.Meet the beautiful butterflies from around the world in our Tropical Showhouse. Make bug and butterfly crafts by our Calla Pond, decorate a butterfly cookie, catch some interesting creatures with our nature interpreters, and learn about the wonderful world of butterflies. Dress up as your favorite bug or butterfly and spend a wonderful spring day outdoors with the butterflies at the Garden! The festival is a co-operative venture by the Oliver Community League, 124 Street Business Association, Christ Church Anglican, and Robertson-Wesley United Church. There will be a free breakfast (donations to the outreach into the Oliver community by the two churches will be accepted), opening ceremonies at 10:00 am, live entertainment at three venues including some fantastic choirs, classical and pop groups, many local vendors, a show-n-shine vehicle display, historic tours of the two churches, games, bouncy castles and lots of other fun things for the kids and youth to do. There will also be artists, a rummage sale, bake sale, and book sale, as well as more food in the afternoon - a BBQ! A workshop that is designed to get kids interested in nature, to teach them where their food comes from. They'll learn about seeds, dirt and even worms all while working in the curated garden!
